Oil Tycoon! does not have one permanent best machine. Each area adds another way to turn oil, or a side resource, into something that can be sold. The developer description confirms collecting, converting, selling, upgrades, workers, and offline production. The area names below were visible in exact-game recordings from September 2026.
What each area is for
| Area | Input and action | What to watch |
|---|---|---|
| Starter conveyor | Oil supply feeds droppers and product processing | One item must reach the seller before you add more droppers |
| Refinery | Drills make crude items; a worker carries them in | An idle drill or unstaffed carry leaves the refinery empty |
| Wells and pump jacks | Generate oil for the shared supply | The tank can fill while a later factory is starved |
| Asphalt factory | Consumes oil and sends processed output to sale | A visible asphalt pump and a full input matter more than decoration |
| Plastic factory | Button-driven machine, upgrader, and a later saw blade | The button presser automates the manual press shown in the run |
| Farm | Corn, silo, and compost purchases feed a separate route | The catapult launches a barrel; see where it lands before judging the output |
| Mine | Pickaxe and workers collect gems for processing | Tool level limits which rocks can be gathered |
| Fishing area | Fish and traps feed fish-oil production | It shows up late in a completion run and is not the starter cash loop |
The check that stays useful after prices change
- Check oil input. If the tank is empty, another processor creates nothing.
- Check the manual transfer. Carry one item yourself. If production resumes, automate that handoff, not a random worker pad.
- Check the sale. Processed items have to reach the cash endpoint.
- Buy capacity after the flow works. Capacity stops overflow. It does not restart a stopped drill.
Golden Hour
A 19 September 2026 recording showed a Golden Hour message offering 50% extra money and a visible 1.5× MONEY timer. Treat it as a temporary server event. Feed lines that already sell during the timer. Do not rebuild the plot around an event with no published schedule.
Offline production
The listing says the factory produces offline. Recordings still show lines stopping when a tank, carry step, or seller is blocked, so log out only after one item is selling on its own. There is no published offline cap.
Use upgrade payback when you want to compare a button you can see with the extra cash you just measured. The form does not read your plot.
